NextFab developing Washington Avenue parking garage for members
NextFab maker-space is in the process of developing an indoor parking garage on the 2000 block of Washington Avenue for the facility at 2025 Washington Ave.
This new parking garage would include a small number of spaces for the use of members to park their vehicles while using the facility.
The parking garage will be accessible for vehicles off of Washington Avenue, along with pedestrian access on Washington Avenue and Kimball Street. This heated space will include video surveillance to keep the space secure.

Seems like a lot of money for an area with plenty of street parking available. I guess you pay for the security.
I think it has less to do with street parking and more to do with convenient parking for members. Most of them are bringing large materials or large quantities of materials to the shop for their projects.
