Woman found with throat slashed in Lee’s Cafe on Washington Avenue

Lee’s, the Vietnamese cafe and bistro at 522 Washington Ave., is normally home to bahn mi and tasty pastries, but last night, it became a crime scene.

A 54-year-old woman who worked at Lee’s was found dead in the basement kitchen of the restaurant around 10 p.m. on Thursday.

Homicide detective are investigating the slaying of a 54-year-old woman who was found with her throat slashed in the basement kitchen of a Vietnamese restaurant in South Philadelphia.

Police at the scene said the woman was a cook at Lee’s Cafe & Bistro, 522 Washington Ave.

Several employees and a handful of customers were in the restaurant upstairs when her body was found around 10 p.m. Thursday, police said.

    Terrible. I read on the news they have a “person of interest” they are pursuing.
