Suspect identified in Lee’s Cafe throat-slashing

Things took a turn for the worse last week at Washington Avenue’s Lee’s Cafe. The restaurant at 522 Washington Ave. ended up as a crime scene, with one of the employees at Lee’s, 54-year-old Thoung Nguyen, being found dead in the basement kitchen of the establishment.

Now police are on the hunt for a suspect who has been identified in the investigation. 27-year-old Noel Ortea Lemus Del Cid, also an employee at Lee’s Cafe, has been identified as the suspected killer.

More from Philly.com:

Officials had previously identified a male coworker named “Noelle” as a person of interest in the killing. On Monday they clarified the man’s full name and described him as a Honduran national whose last known address was on the 1300 block of South 9th Street. He drives a white SUV, has a thin or medium build and may have a cut on one of his hands, police said.

A statement from Lee’s on Facebook:
