Fitzwater Church of God to be demolished in Hawthorne
The Fitzwater Church of God at 1219 Fitzwater St. will soon be gone.
Naked Philly brought our attention to the demolition permit posted on this building in Hawthorne, likely to make way for more residential development.

As for what will replace the Fitzwater Church of God, we honestly aren’t sure. There’s an application going before the ZBA in April, but the City’s website only describes it as “Permit For,” but there’s no other information. So the application clearly wasn’t inputted completely by the City. We could imagine three single family homes here, alternately a seven-unit building would be allowed here by right, since the folks who bought the building also own the lot next door.
