Breezy’s and OCF Realty feud: cafe closing at end of week, relocating to new location

In November a Craigslist posting appeared for Breezy’s Cafe‘s location at 1200 Point Breeze Ave. The listing showed the 1,400 sq. ft. location up for rent for a new tenant to move in during October of 2016.

Breezy’s Cafe now has a new location lined up as they’re allegedly being forced out of this current spot due to back rent.

OCF today has filed a request to Common Pleas Court for a Writ of Ejectment to remove Breezy’s Cafe from the property.  If it has to be carried out, this could mean padlocking the commercial space and removal of the equipment; and if there is resistance it authorizes law enforcement to assist.

The request includes information on the $2,500 per month of rent that was allegedly left unpaid for two months in 2016.

OCF’s owner, Ori Feibush, previously posted a statement on Facebook regarding the situation with Breezy’s. Since that was posted in November, things seem to have gotten messier.

Breezy’s took to Facebook previously saying that they were deciding to leave this location due problems with water leaks and heating and cooling issues. A statement posted yesterday shows that the cafe has acquired a new, yet-to-be-disclosed location that is currently under construction.

We reached out to Breezy’s for comment, but have yet to hear back about more details.

Breezy’s Cafe’s last day in this location will be Sunday, April 3.

    I’m so sad to see that it had to come to this point. It could be such a great spot, but it does have some serious heating and cooling issues, which is sad because they are so fixable.
