Sky Cafe relocates to 11th and Washington after fire at former location

Just after telling you about La Fusion’s relocation to 11th and Washington, we now have news of another restaurant having also relocated to the plaza there.

Sky Cafe was formerly located at 1540 W. Ritner St., until a fire forced them to consider relocation in October. As of mid-February, the Indonesian Cafe opened on the second floor at 1122-28 Washington Ave.

More from Eater:

Good news — Sky Cafe is open again (it actually opened back in February), this time at 1122-38 Washington Avenue, Suite B, inside the Wing Phat Plaza in South Philly, adding a small dose of Indonesian fare to an otherwise Vietnamese-heavy flock. A restaurant employee tells Eater that nothing about the menu or concept has changed, it’s all “exactly the same”, Western Indonesian hits and all. Really, the only difference between its new location and it’s old Ritner street address is its seating capacity. Says a Sky employee, “The menu is the same, but now we can serve more of it.”

Hours are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. On Sunday they are open until 9 p.m.

I feel the opposite of Bob. Sky Cafe was just a few blocks from my home. Sad to see them go but wish them all the best.

I’m with Anthony- here’s hoping some other restaurants come to Ritner Street, what with Toyotomi and now Sky Cafe gone.

But best of luck to Sky… check them out if you are lucky enough to live near their new location- they are great!
