This winter Pennsport’s food scene saw a little shakeup with the closing of two restaurants, 1st Ward Sandwich and Fourth and Cross.

Lee Styer and Joncarl Lachman have opened their new breakfast concept called The Dutch in the former Fourth and Cross spot, and now another restaurant is preparing to open in the Front and Morris storefront of 1st Ward Sandwich. South Helm, the new location of the Kensington-based American BYOB, is set to open on June 3.

More from Philly.com:

The chefs say they will be be ready to go in mid-May, but now want to hold off because they will be taking a breather Memorial Day weekend.

South Helm will use locally-sourced ingredients for a menu that evolves seasonally. This location will not accept reservations. The restaurant will be open from Tuesday through Saturday for dinner service only.

    Hi Passyunk Post,

This is the first edition I’ve received in a long time, and I’ve missed it. My husband and I go to Passyunk Avenue often and have had wonderful dinners at all the new places. I usually catch up on what’s new and happening on Nextdoor and have missed Passyunk Post. We still love the old standard and Tre Scalini is the best. Thanks for this edition, I’m going to share it with all my friend and family from the East End of town. We live in Queen Village, we’re foodies, love to entertain and go to new places from our friends. Thanks for the update on what’s happening.
