On Sunday, May 15 Columbus Square will become a dog’s paradise, with free roam of the park, dog adoptions, vendors, live music and more.

Normally dogs aren’t allowed on the baseball and soccer fields, but for this event only, Columbus Square will completely open for your canine friends to enjoy.

There are plenty of activities happening throughout the day for all dog lovers to enjoy. Raffle prizes at the event include items from local businesses including Amelie’s Bark Shop, Essen Bakery, PEP Bowl, Eastern Pass and more. Live music at the event will be from Kitty Rotten, a local band that performs as cats.

Last year’s event brought more than 200 people to Columbus Square. The money raised at this year’s event will go towards the facilitation of a temporary dog park at Columbus Square while the community space undergoes that $2.8 million redesign in 2017.

Admission is $5 in advance, or $10 day-of the event. This event is limited to spayed and neutered dogs only. Dog Day Afternoon runs from 9 a.m. through 4 p.m. on Sunday. You can read more about it here.
