Black Cat Tavern on 12th now open at 12th and Oregon
In December of 2015 we first told you about a new bar that would take over the former Cheech’s Beef & Ale location at 12th and Oregon. Black Cat Tavern on 12th was expected to open in January, but things ended up being delayed for four more months.
This restaurant and bar has now opened, bringing a new neighborhood-oriented spot to Oregon Avenue.
Owners of Black Cat, Tom Ball and Marlise Tkaczuk, want this bar to be a community gathering place. In addition to the drink menu and Polish foods that will be served here, Tkaczuk also will be curating art to be displayed as a gallery at the bar.
The soft opening for Black Cat Tavern on 12th was on Friday, May 13th. With a black cat as the namesake of the bar, it’s only fitting to have a Friday the 13th opening.
You can visit the bar from Monday through Saturday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. You can keep up-to-date with Black Cat on Facebook.
