Eyesore no more for 718-24 S. 2nd St.?

For at least five years now, a stalled housing development in Queen Village has sat as an eye sore.

The buildings at 718-24 S. 2nd St. may finally be on its way to development now that a permit has been posted to demolish portions of the site.

More from NakedPhilly:

Looking carefully at the demolition permits, it seems that some of the buildings are getting totally demoed, like the buildings on Monroe Street, while others are only getting partially torn down. As for what’s next for this property, we certaintly have no idea. But the fact that demo notices have been posted give the best indication yet that this property, right in the middle of a lovely block, will finally get redeveloped.

According to property records, the building was purchased from the previous owners for over $1 million in 2013.

That property has been a mess since 2008 if not earlier.
