Miller’s Ale House location coming to Columbus Boulevard

In 2014 the chain restaurant Champp’s closed in the Columbus Commons shopping center at the intersection of Columbus Blvd. and Snyder Ave. After two years of vacancy, a new restaurant and bar is expected to open in the location.

When the restaurant closed we mused about whether something other than a chain restaurant would come to this location. The answer that seems to be no, as the new tenant for this large building is expected to be Miller’s Ale House, a chain with at least 75 other locations around the country.

Pennsporter, the neighborhood blog dedicated to all things Washington to Snyder and from the River to Fourth, remerged to announce this news, having spotted the bright orange liquor license placard on the location.

This restaurant will be Miller’s Ale House’s fifth location in Pennsylvania and second in Philadelphia. The other location in the city is located at 9495 E. Roosevelt Blvd.

Would you check out Miller’s Ale House when there are so many other, independently-owned options locally?

My sense is this place won’t have any detrmental impact to local bars, so I’ll freely admit that I’m going to be like a number one fan boy.
