Owners of Taquitos de Puebla are opening a new restaurant in Point Breeze

Breezy’s Cafe’s opened in 2013 at 2011 Reed St. A short time later, the shop moved and has now closed in that location as well. While we don’t currently know what the future holds for Breezy’s new location, we do have some news about the cafe’s original Point Breeze spot.

A Mexican restaurant called Philly Tacos will be opening in July at 2011 Reed St.

Owners of this restaurant are Juan Carlos Romero and Lluli Pilar, who owned the now-closed Taquitos de Puebla in the Italian Market. According to Philly Mag, the reason for the closing of that restaurant two months ago was based on the “rapidly escalating rents in the Italian Market area — joined with the fact that without proper documentation they cannot get business loans or purchase the building that housed their restaurant for a decade.”

Hours for this new restaurant from Romero and Pilar will be Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. You can keep up-to-date with the restaurant on Facebook.
