What clean and green improvements should be made in Point Breeze?

While improvements are being made to the trash problem around the city, like the increased street cleaning through Ready, Willing & Able in Point Breeze, it is still a huge problem (as a Twitter account dedicated to South Philly trash also points out).

Point Breeze Community Development Corporation’s Clean and Green committee is creating a plan for future improvements to the neighborhood and is seeking feedback from nearby residents.

This survey for Point Breeze residents asks questions related to green spaces and trash problems around the neighborhood. There are questions about the type of litter people see, if residents would like to see more trash cans around the area and more.

You can fill out the survey here.

What improvements do you think would help reduce trash and create a better sense of community?

Why aren’t trashcans mandated outside corner stores/carry out restaurants? If there is a hidden city ordinance, why isn’t it enforced?

Provide more receptacles in order to enforce littering laws more stringently. Trashy street prevention and more revenue? Win-win!
