‘Dog Whisperer’ Cesar Milan filmed in South Philly last week for new show

Plenty of South Philly’s restaurants have been the spotlight of TV shows recently, with Wheel of Fortune filming on East Passyunk Avenue, Great American Food Finds featuring the Erace Brothers of Green Aisle, and Ristorante Pesto on the Rachael Ray Show. Now South Philly is the scene for some non-food-related TV filming.

On Friday, Cesar Milan, better known as the “dog whisperer,” visited with Throw Away Dogs Project and filmed for his new television show in South Philadelphia.

From Philly.com:

“Dog Whisperer” Millan was in South Philadelphia on Friday for his new show, Dog Nation, premiering on Nat Geo Wild early next year and costarring his 22-year-old son, Andre. This is not Andre’s first on-camera gig. He’s the host of an animal-themed talk show, Pet Talk.

The new show will put a spotlight on organizations and people who are doing positive work to better the lives of dogs. Throw Away Dogs is an organization based out of Huntingdon Valley that trains previously abandoned dogs to join the K-9 unit at the Philadelphia Police Department.
