93-year-old Texas Wieners hot dog shop has closed, should reopen after building sale

A long-standing Snyder Avenue business has closed – but not for good.

The building housing Texas Wieners at 1426 Snyder Ave. is being sold, closing the 93-year-old business until further notice.

From The Insider:

John Viggiano, who with his family has owned the subway-tiled luncheonette for more than a decade, said a sale was pending and would reopen.

Viggiano said he was close to selecting a buyer “who really wants to take an interest in the business. It has to keep going.” He said he was selling because of a “lucrative job offer in my field of employment.”

I wonder if this has anything to do with them getting shut down by the health dept recently. That was a bummer to hear about.
