Royal Sushi & Izakaya has opened in Queen Village

A restaurant called Royal Sushi & Izakaya has been in the works for years in Queen Village. This spring, an announcement was made that Stephen Simons and David Frank of Cantina, Triangle Tavern and other bars and restaurant, would finally be opening this Japanese restaurant, a collaboration with Masaharu and Jesse Ito from Haddonfield restaurant, Fuji.

We are open! 5pm-2am every day. Food until 1am. Look for the red izakaya lantern.

Over the weekend the restaurant opened its doors at 782 S. 2nd St.

From Eater:

The Itos’ menus (below) include typical izakaya fare: grilled or pan-fried dishes called yakimonokushiyaki andyakitori (meats-on-sticks), deep-fried goodies calledagemono, plus sushi, sashimi, and maki. Drinks run the gamut: shochu, Japanese whisky, and an impressive 30-bottle-deep sake collection.

Royal Sushi & Izakaya is open seven days a week, from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
