Fast-casual Greek restaurant set to open on South Street West

Modern Greek grill is expected open on South Street West in the coming months.

A sign for this new restaurant named YEEROH popped up at 1412 South St., the location just next door to South Street Pizzeria.

The restaurant will be serving traditional Greek gyros and Souvlaki sandwiches for dine-in or pick-up. Delivery options will also be available for the Center City-area.

A countdown on the website lists the days, down to the seconds, until the restaurant is expected to be open for business. As of the time of publication, 87 days remain. While we don’t know if their opening date and time will be that precise, it’s safe to say Yeeroh will likely open sometime in the new year.

Would you like a chance at trying some of this Greek food for free? If you Snapchat the restaurant a picture of the banner on their future location to @YEEROH, you’ll receive a voucher for a free sandwich or tray on opening day.

Wow, that location used to be Yancey’s Bar, been vacant for over 25 years. I’m a little skeptical. I was in that building about 15 years ago, and it was a half-gutted mess. It would take serious construction to open anything in there.
