Fabric Horse to close storefront later this month

It has been five years now that Fabric Horse has called East Passyunk Avenue its home. The retail store featuring handmade bags, utility belts and more won’t be around to celebrate the 6th anniversary of this location in the spring. Instead, owner Carrie Collins will be closing the shop to focus on different aspects of the business.

The last day of Fabric Horse at 1737 E. Passyunk Ave. is on Saturday, October 22.

While the storefront will be closing, the business itself will not be calling it quits. You will still be able to purchase items from Fabric Horse online.

With excitement I’m announcing Fabric Horse will be closing its retail store in October! I realize it’s not normal to be excited about something awesome coming to an end but when one door closes another door always opensWe will still definitely be around making our products and always available online in that respect nothing will change, so please worry not It’s been an incredible 5.5 years on the avenue and now it’s time for the next chapter & phase for FH After the Zambia trip I came home and reminded myself doing that type of work is why I started Fabric Horse in the first place. Therefore, we will be pursuing similar projects on various scales, just without a retail location. Change is the essence of life, and while I’m on this planet I intend to make the most of it, including making as big of a difference as possible. Cheers to new possibilities! … and stay tuned for what’s next… #turningpoint #upsetthesystem #changes #movingonup #newchapters #evolution #madeinphilly #handmade #smallbusiness #sewingprojects #sewingskills #fabrichorse #fabrichorseinthewild #philadelphiamakers #activism #sustainability #designyourlife
