South Philly Pharmacy will be celebrating its grand opening at 2101 S. 19th St., the former Prudential Savings Bank location, on Saturday, October 22.

This new business adds to the growing list of pharmacies in the area. CityCare Pharmacy opened a year ago on West Passyunk Avenue and RiteChoice Pharmacy opened more recently at the corner of Broad and Snyder.

Normal hours for the pharmacy will be from Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

how many pharmacies does a neighborhood need? you forgot to mention the other newish pharmacy on the corner of 16th and McKean that opened around the same time as CityCare. Can’t we get other businesses to open?

agreed, the number of pharmacies opening is bizarre. there is another vacant storefront on Snyder just west of 19th that would make a great cafe, here’s to hoping…

Instead of complaining about what should be, why dont you take the time, energy, and resources and open one yourself? Just some food for thought.
