Diversified Community Services has received $100,000 for Point Breeze Avenue revitalization
Earlier this week Wells Fargo announced that it would be donating $500,000 to community revitalization efforts through the company’s NeighborhoodLIFT program.
Among the five Philadelphia-based organizations receiving a $100,000 share of the half of a million dollars is Diversified Community Services, a Point Breeze-based non-profit dedicated to improving the neighborhood.
The money will go towards the neighborhood revitalization of Point Breeze Avenue, including anything from workforce development and youth programs to neighborhood beautification. Diversified Community Services already represents the neighborhood through programs for youth and families and the creation of energy-efficient and affordable housing options.

“The money will go towards …workforce development…” OH the Redundancy. These community catchphrases are grose. Why would a potion of 100k to to workforce training/career prep etc when there are already a million government agencies that already do it and do it better.
Hopefully it was just included in the proposal to get community approval.
What kind of Job Training will be done with a portion of 100k? Workforce development training programs are already offered at dozens of non-profits and government agencies like the Pa CareerLink. Use they money to keep sprucing the place up.
