Kind notes and sidewalk art brings positivity to vandalism site

South Philly Co-op Playschool‘s parents and children, along with other area residents, have been taking to the Meglio Furs storefront at Broad and Wharton to spread positivity after last week’s post-election vandalism.

The playschool spent Sunday drawing chalk art at the location, while others have been using post-its to spread messages like, “I stand with you against hate.”

From Philly.com:

About 10 to 15 families, according the South Philly Co-op parent Bethany Castillo Cann, met on Sunday at the site where swastikas, racist graffiti and references to Donald Trump were discovered spray painted on a storefront. The graffiti was washed off on Wednesday, but the parents at the Co-op had wanted to take action, and chose this as an appropriate place. Cann had suggested an immigration services building or another preschool before settling on Broad and Wharton.

Normally I associate this type of feel-good nonsense with in-group posturing but this was really sweet. Go, kids!
