Brewery ARS sets sights on December 17 opening

In just under two weeks, Brewery ARS will be opening its doors on West Passyunk Avenue.

When we first told you about the brewery a year ago, they had been aiming for a May opening in their location at 1927 W. Passyunk Ave. Permits and construction took longer and now Brewery ARS will be opening on Saturday, December 17.

Part of the building is dedicated to the brewery itself and the other portion is a tasting room that will be open to the public. The brewery will be serving four different beer options on opening day.

A look inside the tasting room:

Brothers Sean and Andrew Arsenault are both South Philly natives who decided on this West Passyunk Avenue location based on the neighborhood’s diversity and proximity to public transit. After a year-long search for a location and another year of renovations, their brewery is finally coming to life.

In other local brewery news, Point Breeze Brewing now has a beer on tap at Madira Bar.

True, that’s why it’s not the name.

Definitely a big deal for the neighborhood but I was hoping it would have a better appearance. Maybe a colorful/bright/clean looking appearance. But it still looks like the vacant garage it’s always been

I just bought a house around the corner from this place. This could be very dangerous. I’ve heard from friends of these guys that they are the real deal, and their brews are delicious.
