Mattei Family Pizza to open soon on Point Breeze Avenue
To add to new Point Breeze food options like On Point and Burg’s, a pizzeria will be opening in the next few weeks, serving wood-fired, brick oven pizza.
The family-owned restaurant called Mattei Family Pizza is coming soon to 1260 Point Breeze Ave.

The Mattei family has been making pizza for centuries, starting from the mason-built pizza oven in a home in Molise, Italy. After generations of pizza making, the family will now be serving these recipes from a new restaurant in South Philly. The menu has both red and white pizza options, including old standards and more unique topping options. You can check out the menu here.
Once the restaurant opens, hours are expected to be from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., daily.
Is this the same Mattei family as the Mattei Tire Co. on the corner of Oregon and Marvine??
No, it is not. Mattei is a fairly common Italian surname.
