Kun-Yang Lin/Dancers’ You Be the Judge Fundraiser

The Kun-Yang Lin/Dancers (KYL/D) company has an ambitious season planned. The Passyunk Square-based group draws upon “Eastern philosophies while expanding the perimeter of contemporary dance.” On Saturday, October 26 at 5:30 pm KYL/D seeks to raise $10,000 to benefit the company’s community engagement and education programs through their You Be the Judge! fundraiser. The festivities include performances by a quartet of new dance artists, and the return of their signature dance contest.

Company members Wangbo Zhu and Ariel Isakowitz and apprentices Sophie Malin and Emmanuel Williams constitute the foursome that will join their tenured peers at Fishtown’s Sculpture Courtyard. The quartet have amassed pretty impressive credits along their journeys, leading founding artistic director Kun-Yang Lin to declare that the diverse group will “add new sources of inspiration into the company’s repertoire and new work…”

Tickets are $35 or $65. All tickets include all-you-can eat and drink (yes, that means open bar). PaperMill Food Truck will serve-up delicious dishes including vegan and gluten free options.
