First Pics: Take a look inside the Boot and Saddle, which opened last night

Two years in the making, the Boot and Saddle finally opened last night with a concert benefiting the Street Tails Animal Rescue. Tonight will be the first ticketed event, with a show by The Both, which is made up of Aimee Mann and Ted Leo.

We made our way inside to snap a few icognito pictures, so forgive the dark, blurred images. But hey, you get the idea.

What's Happening in:  Graduate Hospital :  Point Breeze 

Kermit’s Bake Shoppe adds cool pizza-themed bike racks

Things are looking a little different on the west end of Washington Avenue. Maybe you haven’t been down there recently because you don’t need kitchen tile or cabinets, but don’t forget that there are neighborhoods on either side of the seemingly desolate avenue.

But at 2204 Washington Ave, the new pizza shop and bakery Kermit’s Bake Shoppe is getting very close to opening, and they installed these nifty pizza bike racks outside.

What's Happening in:  Point Breeze 

Spotted: Beware! Tree is being removed! Six weeks ago! Huh?

This episode of Spotted, an occasional feature, makes us think that someone might have forgotten about this tree near Broad and Ellsworth.

It’s been marked with a big, red X since mid-May. Granted, it’s looking a little haggard, so it probably does have to come down. But now it’s been snubbed twice.
