Taqueria La Mexicanita, a new Mexican takeout, is now open on the corner of 12th and Snyder, taking the place of the former Chinese restaurant.

They opened just five days ago with the business already beginning to pick up, according to worker Mary Gordillo.

Taqueria La Mexicanita offers a wide variety of Mexican and Spanish foods. They are also open 7 days a week from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m., and they also deliver.

What's Happening in:  Girard Estate 

Contemporary Asian restaurant called La Fusion is now open at 15th and Oregon

La Fusion, an ambitious contemporary Asian restaurant with a wide-ranging menu, reopened with a liquor license a couple weeks back at 15th and Oregon.

This restaurant offers a wide variety of foods, including a sushi bar (prepared by the same chef who is doing the takeaway sushi at the new Artisan Boulanger), Thai food, filet mignon, crab cakes, as well as many more options. Check out the full menu from their other location in Willow Grove and pictures of the food here.

La Fusion also has a bar with very reasonable prices, with rail cocktails going as low $3 and mojitos being $7.

What's Happening in:  Graduate Hospital 

New camping supply store – ‘a local alternative’ – coming very soon

Fireside Camp Supply, a locally owned outdoors-outfitter at 2207 South St., is opening to open by the end of the month.

Owner of the store, Christina Saboe, says that she is planning on opening for business sometime next week, or the week after. Don’t worry about that stop-work order, which was issued in March.  Permits for the work on the rest of the building, which include three apartments on the second and third floors, were updated on Tuesday.
