Bella Vista is ‘Best Place to Live in Philadelphia,’ 3 other S. Philly neighborhoods rank in top 5

We all can make a case about what makes our neighborhood “the best in the city,” but Niche.com has taken on that task themselves. The website has evaluated the neighborhoods in categories including “cost of living,” “commute,” “family amenities” and more to decide which area can have the bragging rights of being the “Best Place to Live in Philadelphia.”

It’s a beautiful day in South Philly. #bellavista #southphilly #philly

This year Bella Vista came out on top, with Passyunk Square, Hawthorne and Queen Village also ranking in the top five.

From Philly Mag:

Bella Vista received A grades in education, nightlife, diversity, shortest commute, family amenities and outdoor activities. It got an A-minus for public schools, a B-plus in health and fitness, and Bs in crime and safety and real estate. Niche gave the weather a B-minus grade, the job picture a C and the cost of living a C-minus.
