Birra chef to compete on Hell’s Kitchen

An East Passyunk Avenue chef is among the 18 contestants competing on a new season of the Fox network show, Hell’s Kitchen.

Starting on Friday, September 23, you’ll be able to watch Birra’s chef, Paulie Giganti, compete on the Gordon Ramsay-hosted TV show.

This is by no means the first time the chef of a South Philly restaurant has competed on a reality cooking show. Nick Elmi of Laurel and ITV is a Top Chef winner, Cantina’s chef competed on Bravo’s Recipe for Deception and the owner of Bella Vista’s Samwich is a Chopped champion.

Here’s a clip of what’s to come this season:

You can tune into Fox on Fridays at 8 p.m. to watch Giganti compete.

I always see him in a NY Yankees cap; maybe he’d consider sporting a Phils cap for the show 🙂

Regardless, best wishes to the guy! I love his pizza.
