What's Happening in:  Passyunk Square 

11th and Reed trolley tracks have finally been removed

Last summer it was announced that the trolley tracks at 11th and Reed, along with about 20 other intersections in the city, would be removed. The inactive Route 23 tracks have been a hazard to bicyclists and drivers alike for years now, since the trolley stopped service over 20 years ago.

Over the weekend the tracks were finally removed at the Passyunk Square intersection.

Triangle Tavern receives two bell review from Craig Laban

Triangle Tavern was reopened under new ownership back in May. Now that the restaurant and bar has been open for a few months, The Inquirer‘s food critic, Craig Laban, paid the spot a visit.

Laban gave Triangle Tavern a two bell review, saying that it is “a smart redo of a South Philly classic.”

First Pics: Triangle Tavern now open at 1338 S. 10th St.

After being closed for more than six years, Triangle Tavern is open under new ownership at 1338 S. 10th St.

The restaurant and bar has been a neighborhood staple since 1933. Since the Triangle has so much history to it, new owners Stephen Simons and David Frank, who also own Cantina, Royal Tavern and other restaurants and bars, aimed to keep much of the history of the original establishment, but while giving the spot a bit of a facelift.
