Rumor Mill: Has the Interior Concepts building been sold for $2.3 million?

Last week we told you that Interior Concepts at 1701 E. Passyunk Ave. is planning to close. While some were skeptical about about the validity of the “store closing” signs, some sources tell us that the building has been sold.

Consignment boutique for sneakers opening at 12th and Passyunk

Earlier this year, Addiction Boutique closed at 1713 S. 12th St. and was replaced by a short-lived consignment shop called Jillayne’s Boutique. Hopefully the next place coming in here has better luck.

Two of the buildings currently house a dollar store in a conjoined storefront, and the third has Jillayne’s Boutique, which just opened this spring shortly after the “Mob-Wife”-owned Addiction boutique closed.

The buildings, which are 1709, 1711 and 1713 S. 12th St., at Passyunk and Watkins, also include four apartments. The listing had said that all the residential leases were month to month, providing “potential for significant increase in rental income.”

Plans have not been set in stone, but they include adding a traffic island in the middle of the intersection, expanding the curb at most street corners to shrink the distance pedestrians have to cross, extending the peninsula in front of A Man’s Image, adding pedestrian timing lights and of course, adding greenery and improving lighting.
