UPDATE: We see the comments about Nam Son, and we’re checking it out now. Thanks for the heads up, and we’ll report back.
Bye-bye, Nam Son? It kind of looks that way, at least eventually.
According to an agenda for Wednesday’s zoning meeting of the South of South Neighborhood Association, the committee will be considering a plan to build a five-story mixed-use structure at the Hoa Binh Plaza at 1601 Washington Ave., where Nam Son is located. It would have commercial space on the ground and 35 dwelling units upstairs.
Other businesses are located at 1601 Washington, including a couple of Asian markets and an accounting office. The one-story building, which is zoned “heavy industrial” and valued at $316,500, is owned by a trust controlled by Anthony Bisicchia, according to city records. Bisicchia owns Kerr’s Building Materials at 1528 Washington Ave.
