In what must have been a whirlwind, owner Jen Pirrone and staff got the place stocked and ready to open last weekend (the place was literally empty on Wednesday last week). The shop, which is similar to Nice Things Handmade across the street, offers handmade gifts from about 15 artisans, mostly local ones.
Era Atomica has only been out of 1726 E. Passyunk Ave. for two weeks, and already a new store is set to move in.
It’s the brown one on the right, next to Fringe Salon.
A gift shop called Knack will specialize in handmade goods locally made (not to be confused with the ever-charming Nice Things Handmade across the street). Owner Jen Pirrone says she hopes to open in the last weekend of March.
“Just about everything I will stock in my store is made by artisans and crafters that live in (or have lived in), work in or just love Philadelphia and the surrounding areas,” Pirrone said.
