Fringe Salon to open in new Bok location on August 3

Among the announcements early in 2016 of new tenants for Lindsey Scannapieco’s reuse of the former Bok School was Fringe Salon. The East Passyunk Avenue business decided it was time to pack up their home of 11 years and reopen in a cosmetology space on the 5th floor of the former school.

It is now time for Fringe to close its doors at 1728 E. Passyunk Ave. and open in one of Bok’s spaces at 1901 S. 9th St.

Bok introduces new tenants, pop-up art installation

Since the former Bok Technical School was sold to Lindsey Scannapieco at Scout Ltd. after the great school sale of 2014, the large East Passyunk Crossing structure has seen quite a bit of transformation.

To add to the list of recent additions to the building including a boxing gym, a hairdresser and more, new tenants have been announced, along with a pop-up art installation that will be open at the school through the end of July.

Warrior Boxing Gym is moving to a larger location in the Bok School

The new businesses keep on rolling in at the Bok School. We’ve previously told you about everything from a preschool to a hair salon joining in on Lindsey Scannapieco’s renewal of this shuttered school, now the space is getting an even more diverse selection of businesses.

Warrior Boxing Gym has announced that they will move into this new location at the school at 1901 S. 9th St., just down the street from their current, and soon-to-be former, location at 1209 Mifflin St.

Bok dog park to open this weekend

Big changes have been happening at Bok over the past few months. The first floor of the building at 1901 S. 9th St. is full of tenants, longer-standing businesses like Fringe Salon are making the move there, along with a liquor license application for a permanent restaurant in the Le Bok Fin space on the rooftop.

Now the former school is going to the dogs, with the grand opening of a new dog park outside of Bok happening on Sunday, February 28.

The changes have been rolling in at Bok, with new businesses announcing their moves and the first floor of the former tech school now being full of tenants.

Preschool called Project P.L.A.Y. announces move to Bok

So far Fringe hair salon and Hive76 makerspace have confirmed their moves to the Bok School. Now a preschool can be added to that list.
