Analog Watch Co. to appear on ‘Project Runway: Fashion Startup’ show later this month

It’s like “Shark Tank,” but for the fashion industry. “Project Runway: Fashion Startup” puts fashion and beauty entrepreneurs in front of a panel who will either help fund their dreams or tell them to reimagine their company.

A South Philly business owner will be showcasing his products on the show later this month. Lorenzo Buffa, owner of Analog Watch Co., will soon be shown on the Lifetime network show, presenting his watch brand to a panel of judges including designer Rebecca Minkoff, the CEO of Hilldun Corporation, the founder of Gwynnie Bee and the CEO of Birchbox.

Analog Watch Co. – not a tattoo parlor – will be opening at 1214 Moore St.

A watch design studio and showroom called Analog Watch Co. will be opening at 1214 Moore St., where the Calm Massage studio was until it closed in July.

And how’s this for novel? The watches are the first “gender neutral wooden watches designed with a truly soft and flexible wooden strap.

Yes, the pink and the purple awning will both go, and the facade will be renovated.

You may recall that this location was the site for a proposed tattoo parlor, which was the subject of a contentious zoning meeting at the East Passyunk Crossing Civic Association in August. Well, neighbor opposition at the meeting was apparently enough to scare that guy off. And praise glory be, because a fancy watch store will likely be a much nicer neighbor than a guy who allegedly got a aggressive toward opponents an pointed at them yelling, “How long you live here?”
