Lot & building next to Pat’s up for sale, already under contract

The embarrassment of a vacant lot next to Pat’s has a contract for sale — less than a week after realty signs went up on the 9th and Wharton parcel.

Naked Philly says that the lot and the building next to it, owned by Anna Olivieri of the Pat’s King of Steaks family, is being sold for $1.25 million and $275,000, respectively, according to the realtor.

You can see both realty signs

The same realty sign is on the half-building that collapsed in February on the opposite corner, but it’s not clear if that was included with the sale. We left a message with Leonardo Realty to find out and will update if we hear back.

The roof of the building catty-corner from Pat’s at 9th and Wharton collapsed this morning, nearly three years after renovations on it began.

Looks like 9th, Wharton and Passyunk will soon have another vacant lot to contend with.

Permits for interior demolition of the building, at 848 Wharton St., were pulled as far back as May 2011, according to city records. And as you can see through time, not that much happened between then and when it fell down today:

It’s a one-night-only beta testing event, so the food will be available from 8 to 11 p.m.

“We’re in the process of booking chefs for the cart now, and have a handful set with monthly spots,” owner Jason Evenchik told us. “We’ll have people popping through for one offs but won’t have it fully booked for a few weeks. We’re pretty excited, should be an interesting mix.”
