In a glowing review of Dante Espresso Bar Cafe, Phyllis Stein-Novack of the South Philly Review gave it a near legendary 3 and a half tips of the toque.

The review itself, which was taken during a recent visit for brunch, heaps high praise on the crunchy french toast crusted with Frosted Flakes, French omelette and, most notably, the “creamiest stone-ground grits I have ever tasted,” declared Stein-Novack.
A cafe called Dante, named after owner Pasquale DiGiulio’s son, is shooting to open in mid April, opening early for coffee (6:30 a.m., La Colombe) and serving a breakfast and lunch menu for most of the day. The menu will change midday, and food will be served until probably around 10 p.m., DiGiulio said.
