Jinxed, the vintage furnishing store with three other locations throughout the city, is taking over Era Atomica’s space at 1835 E. Passyunk Ave.
While we don’t know yet what that means for the future of Era Atomica, the space will have a similar vintage vibe that will pair well with the upstairs tenant, Eastern Pass Tattoo, which moved in earlier this fall.
The new tattoo shop is run by Scott Bakoss and Mike Hooligan. Both artists worked together at Kadillac Tattoo Deuce in Northeast Philly. Hooligan still works at Kadillac after more than 10 years as an artist there, but Bakoss now tattoos full time at their new spot on E. Passyunk Ave.
Era Atomica has only been out of 1726 E. Passyunk Ave. for two weeks, and already a new store is set to move in.
It’s the brown one on the right, next to Fringe Salon.
A gift shop called Knack will specialize in handmade goods locally made (not to be confused with the ever-charming Nice Things Handmade across the street). Owner Jen Pirrone says she hopes to open in the last weekend of March.
“Just about everything I will stock in my store is made by artisans and crafters that live in (or have lived in), work in or just love Philadelphia and the surrounding areas,” Pirrone said.
