AmeriThai, the corner takeout that took over a long-vacant space, has opened at 1244 Snyder Ave. and we happened to stop by yesterday when two local monks came in with gifts to welcome the new business. The monks, from the temple at 20th and Washington, also came in with a money tree to raise funds for the national temple located in Washington, D.C.

After a stint on the website team at Philadelphia’s own shopping conglomerate Urban Outfitters/Anthopologie, owner Chris Love left for the siren call of the Silicon Valley. When the start-up he worked for shut down, Love took some time off to travel.
