Neighbors hear 3 options for a better Bainbridge Green

The Friends of Bainbridge Green presented three options on Tuesday for remaking the strip of green between 3rd and 5th streets into a more usable public space. If the project comes to fruition, the resulting changes would add anywhere from 13,000 to 22,000 square feet of green space.

Neighbors who came to the meeting at Zakti Fitness on Fabric Row on Tuesday mostly agreed that the current space has great potential but some were stressed the need to preserve the availability of parking and free flow of traffic to ensure the health of businesses in the neighborhood.

Bainbridge Green test run with week-long parklet space, upcoming meeting to present design options

We’ve been telling you for some time now that Bainbridge Green, the space between 3rd and 5th Streets on Bainbridge, will be redesigned.

While the permanent redesign for Bainbridge Green isn’t ready to go just yet, there will be a test-run with a temporary parklet at 4th and Bainbridge from October 28 through November 3.

Friends of Bainbridge Green will host Dining Under the Stars October 21st

UPDATE: Due to the threat of inclement weather, Dancing Under the Stars has been moved back a week to Oct. 28th. That gives you one more week to support the cause and score some great food from Southwark, Ela and Ox Coffee!

Enter Dining Under the Stars, a dynamic fundraising event that aims to transform the space into a mini-Night Market of sorts, complete with food trucks, live music on one side and a ticketed fine dining element, featuring cuisine from nearby foodie-stalwarts Southwark, Ela and Ox Coffee, on the other.
