Community meeting next week to discuss proposed mixed-use development for Pennsport Freda Meats site

Next week a big development project will be presented at a Pennsport Civic Association meeting. A proposal for a mixed-use project with townhouses, apartments and retail for the Freda Meats site at 1334 Front St. will be shown to the community.

Cafe opening in former vacuum repair shop near Front and Snyder

A new business called Valena’s Simple Cafe is coming to the former vacuum repair shop and “music spot” near the corner of Front and Snyder. At this time we don’t know much about this new business, but a “coming soon” banner is currently hanging outside of the location.

Pennsport’s South Helm receives two-bell review

Pennsport’s restaurants are on a roll. Very recently The Dutch received a two-bell review from Craig Laban, now another nearby restaurant has also received a “very good” review from The Inquirer food critic. This is a nice turnaround for these locations, which both were homes to different restaurants last year.
