Grays Ferry residents have been waiting a long time for a new grocery store option. Ever since Pathmark closed, few options have been available for residents to grocery shop in the immediate neighborhood.
These two Grays Ferry Avenue triangles, located at 24th and Bainbridge, could be seeing some improvements “with the goals of enhancing safety for cyclists, pedestrians, and motorists and improving aesthetics.”
When Pathmark closed in Grays Ferry, it left a huge vacancy, giving residents very few options for grocery shopping nearby. For months now there has been talk about Fresh Grocer opening a store in that location. That rumor has finally been confirmed.
Movement is definitely happening at the former Grays Ferry Pathmark. With fencing around the location and renovations happening to the property, something new is coming soon.

To add to the excitement for residents in the Grays Ferry area, there’s now news of a pending application for a liquor license for the location. The application is for a restaurant license, which would allow for the establishment to serve liquor, wine or beer, along with food service.
The Grays Ferry post office is considering downsizing.
The Postal Service is beginning the process of planning a relocation from the current facility at 2900 Grays Ferry Ave., to a smaller location just across the street in the Grays Ferry Shopping Center at 3005 Grays Ferry Ave.
