Passyunk Square Civic Association is looking for a few good homes for its annual house tour

Are you proud of your house? Do you live between Broad and 6th streets, Washington Avenue and Tasker? Would you like to support your civic association?

Then the Passyunk Square Civic Association would love to have your home on their annual house tour. This year’s tour will be on Saturday, Oct. 11 from noon to 4 p.m. Participating homes will open their doors to ticket holders who are curious to learn more about one of Philadelphia’s hottest neighborhoods, get design ideas, compare contractors and meet neighbors.

What's Happening in:  Bella Vista 

Tom Hanks’ loft from ‘Philadelphia’ will be on Bella Vista home tour this weekend

The loft apartment where Tom Hanks’ character lived in the 1993 Oscar-winning movie “Philadelphia” will be among the highlights of the third annual Bella Vista House Tour on Sunday Oct. 20, from 1-5 p.m.

The tri-level unit features a sprawling living space, recently redone kitchen and top-floor deck with panoramic views of the Center City skyline.

The tour will give a sense of Bella Vista’s diverse housing stock. Other stops will include a former bottling factory transformed into a single-family home; a landscape architect’s third-floor aerie overlooking Cianfrani Park at 8th and Fitzwater; a hidden gem tucked away on one of the neighborhood’s small streets; and side-by-side row homes with very different design sensibilities.

Spy on your EPX neighbors on Saturday: CANCELED

UPDATE: Never mind, folks. This event has been canceled, says an active EPX neighbor. So don’t buy tickets on the website because it’s still letting you do it.

If you’re the type to peek in your neighbors’ windows to see how they decorated, avoid the inevitable arrest and instead take the East Passyunk Crossing fall home tour that goes down this weekend.

The EPX civic, which is organizing this shindig to benefit its good work in the hood, put its well on their website:

Looking for inspiration for your next home project? Ever wonder how that couple down the street remodeled THEIR kitchen? Simply enjoy walking through the neighborhood meeting new people? Then come to the East Passyunk Crossing Tour of Homes on Saturday, November 10th from noon to 4.

The self-guided walking tour costs $15 in advance or $20 day of. Then there’s a happy hour at the Cantina afterword. So even if you don’t take the tour, you can still meet some of your neighbors for a couple margaritas.
