FOOD AND DRINK:
Food and art tend to dominate Second Saturday on East Passyunk each month, so it was only a matter of time before something like this happened.
The HOME furnishings store at 1815 E. Passyunk had a soft opening this weekend, just in time for the holiday shopping season. On Saturday, guests enjoyed some bubbly, treats and shopping in the store, which we first told you about in October. It’s mostly stocked and the items range in price from $15 for small accent pieces to custom furniture in the upper hundreds.
The husband and wife duo, Sary Em and Eric Heidel, have visited several home shows over the past few months in preparation for the store opening. The dining room table that occupies the back room of the store was custom made by local Philadelphia welders and carpenters and is available for sale.
Also on sale were everyday household items – scented candles, graphic mugs, soft throw blankets, etc. HOME will be documenting inventory on their blog and Facebook page. The couple will also be offering design and architecture services there through their firm (re)work architecture & design.
