The long-vacant lot at 13th and South streets could see two four-story buildings with a total of 21 condos, 3,000 square feet of retail and 18 parking spaces, one facing South and the other fronting Kater Street
The developer presented the proposal last night at a Hawthorne Empowerment Coalition meeting. Neighbors were mostly in support of the plan, though some expressed concerns that the design by the architect, Interface Studio, didn’t fit in with the neighborhood, according to meeting attendees who filled us in.
The retail space is expected to be leased as one, two, or three spaces depending on the tenant. The units – some with private “elevettes” – would be priced from $370k to $690K.
