This year’s South Street PHS pop-up will be run by team behind Cantina, Triangle Tavern

The summer of 2016 will mark the third year of PHS pop-up gardens on South Street West.

While we aren’t getting the pop-up garden back at 9th and Wharton, the crew that ran last year’s Passyunk Square garden will be bringing food and drinks “reflecting South Philadelphia’s culinary diversity” to the garden at 1438 South Street. The food and drink will be from Stephen Simons and David Frank, who own South Philly’s Cantina, Triangle Tavern and the soon-to-open Royal Sushi & Izakaya.

PHS pop-up garden to return to South Street West for a third year

Last year South Philly was lucky enough to have two pop-up gardens, one at 9th and Wharton and one on South Street West.

For 2016, we’ll only be seeing one of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Gardens in our neighborhoods. The South Street West garden next to Jamaican Jerk Hut at 1438-46 South St. will be returning for a third year of summer fun.
