List of semifinalists for James Beard awards reads like a South Philly restaurant directory

The James Beard Foundation has released the nominations of its annual culinary awards – which are something like the Oscars of the food world – and South Philly is well-represented.

All kinds of things are happening with the Mildred this month

Since spring has sprung, outside seating news just keeps popping up. Now comes word that The Mildred at 824 S 8th St. in Bella Vista is getting into the outside patio game too, GrubStreet reports.

Phyllis Stein-Novack at South Philly Review loves Gennaro’s, which we told you about last month. “If you like thin-crust pizza, you will love Gennaro’s pies.”
