You can now get weekend brunch at the Italian Market’s Restaurant Neuf

Almost exactly a year ago, Restaurant Neuf opened its doors in the Italian Market. The restaurant from Joncarl Lachman and Bob Moysan of Noord has, to this point, only served dinner.

Now in addition to getting brunch at both Noord and Lachman’s newest spot, The Dutch in Pennsport, you can now enjoy the Northern African and French-inspired cuisine for brunch at Neuf, located at 943 S. 9th St.

The Dutch ‘another charming new entry’ to South Philly breakfast scene, receives two bell review from Laban

After Fourth and Cross closed in Pennsport, a nicely renovated restaurant space was left empty. Lee Styer of Fond and Joncarl Lachman of Noord and Restaurant Neuf decided the spot was perfect for them to team up for a new breakfast concept called The Dutch.

The Inquirer‘s Craig Laban paid the restaurant a visit, giving it two bells. He applauds The Dutch for serving one of Philly’s more distinctive steak and eggs dishes, along with a pretty great eggs Benedict, but noted mixed feelings towards dishes including the banana pancake and the Dutch baby.

The Dutch sets opening date for late next week

Lee Styer and Joncarl Lachman’s new breakfast concept in Pennsport called The Dutch is moving along quickly. It’s been less than a month since we’ve told you about the new restaurant and as of late next week, this breakfast spot will be open for business.

This location was previously home to the short-lived Fourth and Cross. Former owner Andrew Michaels did a complete renovation of the location, which was formerly Bell’s Delly, prior to opening his restaurant. That made the spot pretty much move-in-ready for these two East Passyunk Avenue chefs, Styer of Fond and Lachman of Noord and Neuf.

Noord and Fond teaming up for new breakfast spot in former Fourth and Cross location

The Pennsport community was disappointed when Fourth and Cross announced its closure at the end of 2015 after less than a year in the former Bell’s Delly location.

Neuf ‘a welcome change in the heart of the Italian Market,’ gets 2-bell review from Laban

Joncarl Lachman and Bob Moysan’s decision to open a new restaurant to follow up the successful BYOB that is Noord immediately marked this new spot as a must-try restaurant upon its opening in September. Noord has 3-bell status and a great reputation on East Passyunk Avenue, so this Restaurant Neuf had big shoes to fill.

Now that Neuf has been open for a few months at 943 S. 9th St. in the Italian Market, Laban stopped by and dished out a 2-bell review to the North African and French-inspired restaurant.

First Pics: Restaurant Neuf opening Sept. 30 in the Italian Market

The new restaurant from the Joncarl Lachman and Bob Moysan of Noord has been one of the most-anticipated new restaurants in the city since the news first broke of its opening in January.

As of Wednesday, September 30, Restaurant Neuf will be officially open at 943 S. 9th St., serving North African-style food with Southern French influences.
