There’s nothing like grilling in the summer, but it’s even better when someone else does it for you.
The South Street Headhouse District and Hot Diggity are throwing a hot dog cookoff from noon to 4 p.m. on the 400 block of South 2nd Street, aka Headhouse Square. Participating restaurants include Hot Diggity!, Brauhaus Schmitz, The Twisted Tail, Bridget Foy’s, Copabanana, Bistro Romano, Marc Vetri’s Alla Spina, Lucky’s Last Chance, Misconduct Tavern, La Calaca Feliz, and Chefs Aaron Gottesman and Jen Carroll for Border Springs Lamb Farm.
There will also be a toppings contest, beer tents and live music from a seven-piece funk ensemble. Pay as you go.
