Luke Palladino files for bankruptcy. What’s next for Palladino’s on Passyunk?

Earlier this summer Luke Palladino announced that renovations would be coming to his East Passyunk Avenue restaurant, with a planned reopening date of September 9. What Palladino didn’t say was that the reason for the closure was due to back rent, leading to him being sued by the building’s landlord.

What's Happening in:  East Passyunk Crossing 

Palladino’s closed through September for renovation

UPDATE: There’s more than renovations happening at Palladino’s. According to Philly Mag, the closure is due to landlord/tenant issues. Luke Palladino is being sued for claims that he “hasn’t paid rent on the restaurant since March and owes the landlord more than $25,000.”

Palladino’s opened its doors in December of 2014, bringing Northern Italian dining from Luke Palladino to 1934 E. Passyunk Ave.

The East Passyunk Avenue dining spot is now planning a renovation to make the restaurant “more of a community gathering place.”

Palladino’s sets opening date, now accepting reservations

Palladino’s, an 80-seat upscale Italian steakhouse at the gateway of E. Passyunk Ave, will officially open for dinner service on Dec. 18, the restaurant announced on Twitter.

We time we checked in with Palladino’s, the restaurant was shooting to open sometime in November at the former Colombo’s space at 1934 E. Passyunk Ave. Crews are on the scene installing the black and white paneling in preparation for opening night.

Palladino’s Steakhouse is expected to open next month

Palladino’s Steakhouse is set to open sometime in November at 1934 E. Passyunk Ave., according to Michael Klein at The Insider. A recent trip to Italy might provide a glimpse at what could be expected as far as wine selections go.

The Insider reports that chef Luke Palladino spent five years in Italy honing his craft and recently “met with the restaurant community [in Italy], including food purveyors and fishermen.”
