What's Happening in:  All over South Philly 

PPA to begin ticketing some of the illegally parked vehicles on the Broad Street median

South Philly residents are still pretty split on whether or not parking should be allowed on the Broad Street median, as shown through this recent survey.


A permanent ban on this already-illegal parking won’t be happening at this time, but Mayor Kenney is trying to please both sides of the issue by making some new enforcements on Broad Street. The Philadelphia Parking Authority will now be ticketing vehicles in the median only “when a car is fishtailed, in the turning lane, and in the crosswalk.”

Parking tickets on the rise in South Philly

One of the most frequently talked about problems around South Philly tends to be the issue of parking.

With the boom of restaurants on East Passyunk Avenue, new developments popping up around South Philly and the continued traffic around popular spots like “cheesesteak corner,” it doesn’t come as much of a surprise that parking tickets are on the rise around South Philly.
